Her passion is in Egyptian dance forms from homegrown (Baladi), to stage (Raqs Sharqi), to the modern revolutionary street dances (Shaabi and Mahranat). Magdalene’s signature has become slow, sultry movements that get audiences’ hearts beating as their nervous systems downshift. Magdalene turns any stage into her family room and she welcomes each audience member as her own special guest. She teaches and performs throughout New England and New York. Irit is passionate about Middle Eastern dancing and has graced stages in New England for many years! She has lived in many places in our world, now in Southern Vermont. Learning and evolving, the music inspires her to move her body in so many different ways, each time differently, bringing freedom to the soul. Lilya started shimmying in the late 20th century and has continued through two cross country moves and three children. She is trained in and mainly dances American Cabaret style, which developed in the nightclubs of New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago in the 1950s. Unlike the traditionally more subtle movements of Egyptian style belly dance, AmCab aims to take you on a theatrical rollercoaster full of props and big moves; dancers expect the audience to clap along and make some noise!
