Grab your favorite adventure buddy and join us for a bird walk at DeKorte Park on Saturday, December 27 from 12 pm – 2 pm. It’s Weird Duck Season, so we will look out for winter waterfowl, wading birds, songbirds, and anyone else who is in the park.
We will meet at Richard W. DeKorte Park and then head out on the boardwalk trail and a dirt path or two. We will walk for about two miles. Please dress for the weather, wear closed-toe shoes, bring water, layers, snacks, a hat, and binoculars if you have them. We have five pairs of 8×25 birding binoculars for you to borrow as needed, and we will have a spotting scope to look through as well.
We will hear traffic from the New Jersey Turnpike, New Jersey Transit trains, and construction noise during this urban birding experience.
Our outings are rain or shine but in the event of extreme weather we will reschedule for a more enjoyable experience. Let’s get birdy!
