- **Event Description**: We invite all Deaf, hard-of-hearing, and any interested library patrons to come to our first Community Conversation, held at the Lynden Library on Wednesday, June 10, from 6-7:30pm.

WCLS was recently awarded a $10,000 grant from the Libraries Transforming Communities: Accessible Small and Rural Communities, an American Library Association (ALA) initiative that provides community engagement and accessibility resources to small and rural libraries to help them better serve people with disabilities. This grant will help the Lynden Library connect with the local Deaf/hard-of-hearing community.

This will be a collaborative conversation, with the goal of learning what patrons need from the library, what we could be doing better to support and promote accessibility, what technology would be beneficial for the library to have, and more. 

This event is open to all ages, with crafts and games for children. Snacks and ASL Interpretation will be provided. Please email accessibility@wcls.org with any questions.
