This is Pierce Street Gateway's inaugural event to raise money through sponsorships; you don’t have to walk or run four miles, you simply email friends to sponsor your zinnia growing efforts.

Please think of a person you’d like to grow in honor of or in memory of.  Pierce Street is all about honoring our past and the amazing people that gave us inspiration.

Frequently asked questions:

Why Zinnias?
-Zinnias are colorful, easy to grow, need little water, they attract pollinators, and bloom in 5 weeks.  They make great cut flowers arrangements and bloom through October.
-Plus (drumroll please) ------ deer do not like them!  

Do I have to stay through the entire event?  
-Arrive anytime and stay as long as you like. This is an open-house event with 5 minute instruction sessions running continuously.

Do I have to have gardening experience or tools? 
-NOPE! We’ll teach you how to grow with no special tools!

Will there be food and beverages?  
-You betcha! A complimentary spread of unique appetizers and a free mocktail sponsored by Atelier 11, Ltd Architecture.
-We will also have a $5 cash bar with wine and beer. You may like to try the "Amaza Lee Meredith’s Elderflower Spritzer"- a Pierce Street Original!

What is the dress?
-Anything colorful, flower-ful, or even 70’s Flower Power looks!
-Our gift of gardening gloves will keep your hands clean. An array of over-the-top fascinators and flower-filled hats will jazz up your Photo Booth look!

Kids?
-No cost for those under 18 and there will be kid-friendly food at one table.  
-Planting zinnias-which bloom in 5 weeks- is a great learning experience.
-Our garden has room for kids to run and they can pick some of our ripe blackberries.

What does the $10 entry get you? 
-In addition to garden tips, fun conversation, and bubbles, and you’ll leave with enough zinnia seeds to plant a  2’ wide x 25’ long flower bed, or just a nice pot for your front step.
-You can pay at our registration table at the event

-You’ll just have to join us to see that!
