? DOG RUFF
Dog ruff were formed in the late 1960’s by Peter Dyer (lead guitar) and John Reed (bass). Chris Cooke (also lead guitar) joined in 1982 and Greg Pepper (drums) in 2001. The latter recalls his first gig. ‘They had no set-list – the songs were in their heads and they knew them as they felt them. I managed to busk my way through and we bashed it out and had a jolly good time.’

Peter is the main vocalist but, like all great bands, they can all sing. Dogruff are unashamedly a covers band but, interspersed between classic tunes by the likes of Carl Perkins, Sam Cook, Eddie Cochran and the Stones, they play covers so obscure they might well be originals.

? SUPPORT ACT: THE STRANGERS
The Strangers are an off-shoot of The Strange Blues Band featuring Darrell ‘Crash’ Kennedy on acoustic guitar, Greg Pepper on Cajun (both founding members of Captain Crash and The Magic Hats) and Colin on bass. They play covers ranging from Neil Young, JJ Cale, The Velvet Underground and the mighty Hawkwind through to The Pretenders and Miley Cyrus with a beautifully chilled and sometimes psychedelic feel.
