Erja Lyytinen, chanteuse et guitariste finlandaise fête, cet été, ses 50 ans. Lancée dans le circuit des concerts « blues » au début du millénaire par la maison de disques Ruf Records, pour laquelle elle participe à l’édition 2006 du Blues Caravan, elle s’impose rapidement comme artiste majeure du label, pour lequel elle enregistre plusieurs albums ‘studio’.
C’est cependant sur scène, que la jeune artiste peut faire preuve de toute la panoplie de son talent. Le contact avec le public, pour elle, est très important pour pouvoir véhiculer sa musique.
Fan de Ray Charles, d’Aretha Franklin et surtout de Bonnie Raitt, elle écrit ses propres morceaux mais ne renie pas les classiques du genre. Comme preuve, son album « The sky is crying », sorti en 2014, et sur lequel, elle rend hommage à la musique d’Elmore James !
Son actuel album, « Smell the roses», propose un blues-rock bien ficelé, avec des morceaux au rythme soutenu, où elle prouve toute l’étendue de son jeu de guitare.
Depuis 2012, elle a sorti quatre albums « live », dont le « Diamonds on the road - Live 2023 », encensé par la presse spécialisée. Lors de son passage au Sang a Klang, la première partie sera assurée par The Blind Dog Mayer Group qui retrouve la scène après cinq ans d’absence !

Erja Lyytinen hat mit fünfzehn das Gitarrenspielen erlernt und geht weiterhin ihren ganz persönlichen Weg. Singen kann sie auch, sie schreibt ihre eigenen Lieder und mag Konzertauftritte über alles. Ihr Live-Album „Diamonds on the road“ aus dem Jahr 2023 wurde von der Fachpresse mit Lob überschüttet. In der Zwischenzeit hat sie die Bühne mit Größen wie Carlos Santana geteilt und konnte Gitarrenspezialisten wie Jennifer Batten oder Sonny Landreth für eigene Studioaufnahmen gewinnen.
