She will discuss the significant changes in recent years and how these technological milestones have shaped her research path, leading to new insights at the intersection of communication systems, data science, and intelligent computing.Drawing on selected PhD projects and collaborative research, Professor Liu will highlight how interdisciplinary thinking – which links networking, computer science, domain-specific research, and AI technologies – enables solutions to complex, real-world challenges.Following the lecture, there will be a chance to network with Professor Liu and other attendees over light refreshments.Speaker bio – Professor Enjie LiuProfessor Enjie Liu is a Professor of Networked Applications at the University of Bedfordshire, and the Deputy Director of The Institute for Research into Applied Computing and Engineering.Dr Liu obtained her BSc in Computer Science at Northwest University in China and a PhD in Telecommunications from Queen Mary, University of London.Before joining the University of Bedfordshire in 2003, Professor Liu had several years of industrial experience in both China and the UK.During her career, Professor Liu has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers, while also serving in editorial roles for international journals.
