We are living in challenging times. Politicos mumble peg towards shame and obscurity.  The acrid smoke of wildfires chokes the bunnies and birdies of the boreal forests. Needless wars rage stoked by the egos of incompetent leaders. The cancer like spread of AI threatens to make humans digital slaves. 

Boundless boring bales of bullshit abound.  The price of fish is beyond the understanding of mere mortals. Trade disputes fester on the whim of tyrants. Hopeless hoards of homeless hide in humble handmade horror.  Potentates and poltroons prance upon the scene and piss everyone off like leg humping hounds.  Great white sharks cruise our coast searching for tender morsels.  

And, as you contemplate the future of human civilization, consider the extravagant and profoundly foolish fun available at the immortal SEPTEMBER CLASSIC! 

The September Classic has had one objective since its inception 24 years ago - to bid fond farewell to the gentle sweetness of summer with a full throated, high spirited, explosion of nautical tomfoolery as we celebrate the beauty and majesty of hand built wooden vessels. As always, no fiberglass vessels shall be permitted. Handicapping and race rules shall be at the whim of the organizers and will not withstand any logical scrutiny. 

Seafarers and their motley crew should gather at the BLUENOSE SHED (aka The Big Red Boat Shed) at 12 Burma Road on SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 12 @ 10 AM. For those not psychologically prepared for the sailing mayhem, the feasting and shore-based activities will start at 6 PM. 

Behold the joys on offer. Sailing races in fine wooden vessels on the sparkling waters of Lunenburg Bay, abundant local food and drink, live music, and the entirely ridiculous and highly competitive Tiki Torch Dingy Race after which, glorious trophies will be bestowed.

A contribution of $25 per human will be required to offset provisioning, mental health rehabilitation services, and legal fees. As always, a vow of secrecy will be required and administered by a knuckle dragging mob of lawyers, accountants, and bureaucrats. 

Be resolute and brave in these trying times.  In the face of the world as it seems to be - a celebration of wooden boats, companionship, and a hard-earned hangover trumps all else.
