- **Event Description**: A restorative writing retreat on the spring equinox — quiet, focused writing time in community, held in a beautiful woodland setting.About this EventThe equinox is a moment of balance — equal parts dark and light, rest and emergence. It's a good day to write. This restorative writing retreat offers something simple and increasingly rare: uninterrupted time to write, held in a warm community of fellow writers, in a peaceful woodland setting. We come together to do the quiet, necessary work of putting words on the page — each of us tending to our own project, side by side. Just you, your words, and the turning of spring. Rooted. Present. Writing. How the day unfolds:We open together with a settling practice — a brief, grounding ritual to help us arrive fully, shake off the week, and drop into the creative headspace we came here for. From there, the day is yours. A day of open, self-directed writing in a peaceful, inspiring environment. You bring your project — fiction, memoir, poetry, essays, journaling, something brand new — and we hold space for you to sink into it.Stretches of open writing time carry us through the morning and into the afternoon. At midday, we pause for a brown bag lunch — an unhurried hour and a half to eat, breathe, and, if you like, share what's alive in your work. This is a space for deep listening, not critique. Witnessing, not fixing. You're welcome to share or simply to be present for others. Then we return to the page.Bring:Your own lunch and favorite beverageYour writing tools, your current project (or just an openness to finding one)Slippers/warm socks or indoor shoes (we take shoes off at the door)An openness to giving yourself the gift of a phone-free zone (no WI-FI)Permission to show up as you are, to trust your own voice, and to let the act of writing itself be enoughLeave behind:DeadlinesSelf-judgmentPressure to produce anything in particularWhat this is not: There are no workshops, no critiques, no feedback sessions. This is not a class. It's simply time — protected, intentional, communal time — to write. What's provided:Tea bags, hot water and Keurig with refillable coffee podsA fridge for storing your lunch and microwave for reheatingA quiet space to focus and write (silence during writing time is golden)Fellow writers holding the container with youThe soft sounds of spring waking up around you, and the particular magic that happens when creative people gather to do their work side by sideWhether you're deep in a manuscript or just finding your way back to the page, you are welcome here. Come write. The season is turning, the woods are waking up. So are we.All are welcome. All levels. All genres. Come find your story in the woods.Suggested donation: $30Space is limited to 16 guestsRegistration is required https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events4/banners/e5802f80-20c7-11f1-a80c-71aa7eb81ff0-rimg-w987-h740-dc1b0403-gmir.jpg https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events7/banners/e5bdadb0-20c7-11f1-8ce5-afcd59d33ab9-rimg-w987-h740-dc1a1517-gmir.jpg https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events10/banners/e5f2ee80-20c7-11f1-a80c-71aa7eb81ff0-rimg-w555-h740-dc190502-gmir.jpg https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events10/banners/e62aee70-20c7-11f1-a80c-71aa7eb81ff0-rimg-w987-h740-dcbbaa91-gmir.jpg
