- **Event Description**: Join the Wild Wanderers Hiking Club all year round as we explore the St. Croix River Valley together!About this EventThe Wild Wanderers Hiking Club invites people of all ages to explore the St. Croix and Namekagon Riverway through guided hikes in some of the most beautiful lands that define our region. We strive to encourage a love of the outdoors, connections to nature, others, and ourselves, through shared appreciation for our natural environment.It's the season of giving thanks, and here at the Conservancy we are thankful for fall leaves and hikes in the crisp air. This hike will take place on the Gandy Dancer section of the Ice Age Trail, conveniently starting and ending at the wonderful Cafe Wren where you can enjoy a warm beverage.Meet your Wild Wanderers hiking team! Each hike will be lead by one, or more, of our dedicated staff:Wendy has been with Wild Rivers Conservancy since 2021 as the Community Engagement Manager and has over two decades of experience in environmental education. She served as a hiking guide and regional leader with She Ascends Hiking and Wellness for five years.Owen has been planning and leading events as the Outdoor Program Coordinator at the Conservancy since 2024. Previously he has worked as an outdoor guide leading canoe and backpacking expeditions throughout North America, and as an adaptive ski instructor in the mountains of Colorado. He is a certified Wilderness First Responder and trained in risk management for a multitude of outdoor settings.October is the Conservancy's Outdoor Program Specialist and an avid outdoorsman throughout the midwest. He has been kayaking and fishing since his youth, and adventured up and down the coast from Washington to Alaska.
