On June 28, Sally Shelton, who teaches preventive conservation in Texas Tech’s Heritage and Museum Science master’s degree program, will offer some tips to the public on how to care for your objects during “SOS: Saving our Stuff.”

Attendees are welcome to bring a family heirloom to the workshop. An heirloom, Shelton explains, is anything from your family that you love and want to preserve for the future.

Shelton is a graduate of Texas Tech’s Museum Sciences master’s degree program and has worked in the museum field for more than 40 years in preventive conservation. She has worked on her own family heirlooms and will teach attendees how to take care, store and document family heirlooms for the next generation.

The class will meet from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, June 28th. Space is limited to the first 25 people who sign up at landmark.education@ttu.edu.
