To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Conservation Week, join us in honouring all the fantastic community groups involved in conservation and promoting biodiversity in our region.
Get stuck in, and learn about all the rewarding opportunities to get hands on with local conservation in your backyard! If you come along you’ll meet some of the critters that make our region so special, and learn how you can do your part to protect them & their habitats. ? ?
There’ll be plenty information, entertainment and exciting activities such as a “parlour of natural beauty”, activities for children, and vendors selling sustainable products.
Find out how you can support the vision of the Whanganui-a-Tara Whaitua, a group of local people committed to safeguarding the mauri of the water: “Kei te pūtake o Whaitua te Whanganui a Tara tōna mauri mana motuhake, hei oranga mo te katoa i noho ki konei”. The mauri of Whaitua te Whanganui a Tara and the communities who live within it is nurtured, strengthened and able to flourish.
