- **Event Description**: In honor of National Lynch Syndrome Awareness Day, I am excited to announce this year’s spring Pröst Lovettsville crawl, newly rebranded from Lov Golf to Fore a Cure: Putts & Pints for Progress.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, June 13th, with proceeds benefiting AliveAndKickn, a nonprofit that supports individuals and families affected by Lynch syndrome.

This cause is deeply personal for my family. Lynch syndrome has touched Becky’s family in a very real way, It is the reason Becky has been getting colonoscopies, endoscopies, and other regular screenings for as long as I have known her, and it will impact the lives of our two boys as well.

Lynch syndrome is an inherited condition that increases the risk of several cancers, especially colorectal and endometrial cancer. Sometimes the specific mutation can be identified and sometimes it cannot, but the family history and risk are very real either way. If a parent carries it, each child has a 50 percent chance of inheriting it.

I am always inspired by the generosity of this community. I have seen it year after year through our kickball fundraiser, and our bar crawls have always been such a fun reminder of how special this town is. After how much fun last year’s golf crawl was, I wanted to turn this spring’s version into something that could do a little more.

The businesses in town have always been supportive, but more than anything, it is the people here who make these events what they are.

I hope you will join us on June 13th for Putts & Pints for Progress. Come in your best golf attire, play a little, heckle a little, have a drink, support local businesses, and enjoy the silliness of it all while helping support a cause that quite literally hits home for my family.

I know everyone has causes that mean something to them and their loved ones. This one is ours.

I will be reaching out to local businesses to let them know about the event and see if they would like to help out with the charity aspect. If anyone would like to donate items for a raffle, I would truly appreciate it!
