Location: Louisville Center for the Arts 801 Grant Ave Louisville, CO 80027, USA Ginga Quartet (Instrumental) Cultivated in Boulder, Colorado, and comprised of some of the finest jazz, classical, and salsa musicians on the Front Range, Ginga is Colorado’s premier Brazilian music ensemble. For over a decade, the group has captivated audiences with the vibrant rhythms, sophistication, and energy of Brazilian music. For this limited seating concert, the Ginga Quartet features Greg LaLiberte (flute, saxophones, percussion), Bill Kopper (guitar), Raoul Rossiter (drums, percussion), and Bill McCrossen (bass). Michele Castro Michele Castro hails originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As vocalist and guitarist, she began to play internationally when invited to perform two tours of Germany with a Choro/Samba band as lead singer. Michele is proud to say she grew up in the Rocinha favela where she draws much of her musical inspiration and appreciation. While she is inspired by a number of artists, Elis Regina and Rosa Passos have influenced her work the most. Her vocal repertoire includes Samba, Bossa Nova, Brazilian Pop & Rock, MPB (Musica Popular Brasileira), Choro and Forró. She also plays a variety of Brazilian percussion instruments.
