- **Event Description**: Our steam locomotive Colin McAndrew will be in action operating wagon shunting demonstrations in the Heritage Centre's railway sidings. There is also the opportunity to enjoy a 15 minute ride on the locomotive foot plate. Join the driver and fireman as they shunt the wagons from one siding to another. You even have the opotunity to get hands on  with a chance to drive the locomotive yourself! Foot plate rides cost £10 and are only available to visitors aged 16 and over. Also operating will be the Heritage Centre’s Quarry Bottom Railway, enjoy a 6-7 minute train ride around the Heritage Centre gardens, price £2 adults £1 children, The Garden Railway will also be operating, allowing visitors to drive the little radio control trains, £1.50 for 5 minutes. Our crazy golf course will be open for a fun, but challenging games of golf, price £2.50 per person. In addition to this enjoy the Heritage Centre’s formal gardens, discovery nature trails, den building area, local history and railway museums. Entry to the event costs £3 adults and £1.50 children.
