- **Event Description**: Join us to explore why research matters to care homes and home care, learn about the 'living lab' approach, and shape research priorities.About this EventWhy Does Research Matter to Care Homes and Home Care?A University of Nottingham 'Living Labs for Care' (LiLaC) Eventjoin us in celebrating the LiLaC project, which has explored how research can be embedded into care homes to improve the quality of life, care, and work.Over the past eighteen months, the project has supported a number of care homes in the East Midlands to integrate research into everyday practice through collaborative partnerships. This event provides an opportunity to hear about the journey so far, discuss lessons learned, and explore how research can be carried out in ways that truly make a difference to social care.The session will be chaired by the LiLaC team and Professor Adam Gordon MBE, Professor of Care of Older People at the Academic Centre for Healthy Ageing, Whipps Cross Hospital and Queen Mary University of London.The event will focus on sharing insights, experiences, successes, and challenges of embedding research into care homes and home care settings across the East Midlands.What to expect:Real examples of care-led and care-informed research from academic researchers, care home managers, and staffEngaging and creative presentations, videos, displays, and visual materialsOpportunities to share experiences, successes, challenges, and concerns about conducting research in the care sectorDiscussion to help shape future research prioritiesNetworking with researchers and care providers from across the regionThe chance to join a network of research-engaged care providersThis event is designed for care providers, managers, staff, and anyone interested in improving care through research.Final agenda TBC.If you have any queries, please contact Dr Natalie Richardson at natalie.richardson@nottingham.ac.uk.We look forward to welcoming you.
