(Marking yourself as Going or Interested on this event DOES NOT guarantee you a spot) Once again we are happy to announce a Recovery On The River whitewater rafting trip with Healing Waters Wilderness Adventures. This year we will be hosting our adventurous river rafting & camping trip at Camp Lotus on the American River. There will be only one trip this year. August 29th-30th (25 rafters max) Once the trip has 25 folks that have paid the registration fee and turned in their paperwork, we will start a waitlist. Email bstanton@castrocountryclub.org to be added to the waitlist once registration is full. The deadline to turn in your documents and payment for the trip is August 8th. These are overnight camping trips at Camp Lotus on the American River. Rafters should arrive Saturday morning by 8:30am. Arriving late may mean that you will miss the rafting portion of the weekend. Busses will transport the rafters to the launch site. Rafters will raft that afternoon down the American River and back to the campgrounds where they will camp overnight and return to the Bay Area by around 4pm Sunday. All camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, and mat), river equipment and food is provided , except lunch/snacks on the road to and from Camp Lotus. You are welcome to bring your own camping gear if you wish. Cost is $90/per person and there are a limited number of partial scholarships available. The trips are lead by Healing Waters Wilderness Adventures, a not-for-profit in SF that provides outdoor adventure activities for people in recovery and/or people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS to facilitate community, physical, mental and spiritual health.
