Calling all birds of a feather ~
Tonight we’ll explore symbolism and life lessons—blended with insight and humor—through our playful theme of ducks. It just so happens that January 13 is National Rubber Ducky Day, and I couldn’t resist leaning into a lighthearted approach. Sometimes levity and laughter are exactly what the nervous system needs.

Laughter and levity are powerful tools for holistic healing, offering physical, mental, emotional, and social benefits. They’re often considered a form of preventive medicine—helping to ease stress, lift mood, and foster resilience.

Many cultures, including Native American, Celtic, and Chinese traditions, revere the duck as a meaningful spirit animal. Spiritually, ducks symbolize balance, emotional resilience, intuition, and adaptability—gracefully navigating water, land, and air to reflect harmony among life’s realms. We’ll explore these and other duck-inspired life lessons before taking a deep dive into a Sound “Bath” Journey.

And no—we won’t actually be bathing in water. 
Instead, you’ll be immersed in a nourishing soundscape—waves of sound and vibration from crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and other intentional healing instruments—washing through and around you. These soothing sounds help soften the grip of stress, regulate the nervous system, and gently guide you back to your natural state of balance, leaving you feeling light-as-a-feather, calmer, and more at ease.

You’ll be held in a safe, therapeutic space where relaxation, insight, and gentle transformation can unfold.

Just as the ducks at our nearby Sweet Springs Nature Sanctuary in Los Osos come to rest each evening in the quiet creek, we’ll gather and allow anything heavy to roll off our backs—floating on sound waves that carry us home to an inner sanctuary of peace and balance.

This experience isn’t about doing anything—it’s about resting, listening, and allowing the sounds to carry you. It’s a gentle invitation to begin the new year with less striving, more trust, and a touch of playful joy as you meet life with greater ease and kindness.
