Our annual South Bay Events Chili Cook-Off is back and happening during the FINAL Los Gatos Music in the Park of the summer!

Chili tasting 5:00-6:45pm
Civic Center Lawn in Los Gatos-Stage Right
?5pm-7pm Live music by Harry & The Hitman - a fun, high-energy, danceable band that will keep the park moving all evening!

Think you make a pretty damn good pot of chili???

Or better yet… has someone actually told you that you make the BEST chili?

Well, here’s your chance to prove it?

Whether it’s an old family recipe, something you’ve perfected over the years, or a top-secret concoction you refuse to tell anyone what’s in… we want you in the competition!

?BRAGGING RIGHTS ARE ON THE LINE!

There is NO ENTRY FEE to compete!

Our chefs will be competing for:
? 1st Place
? 2nd Place
? 3rd Place

And, of course, the most important prize of all…An entire year of being able to tell everyone your chili kicked everybody else’s ass?

If you want to compete, message Mileaway, Matt, Pam or Jethro ASAP so we can reserve your spot, voting number and voting box.

? CONTESTANTS -  HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Please arrive by 4:15 PM so everyone has plenty of time to get set up. Chili tasting begins at 5:00 PM. We are doing things a little different this year so it’s fair for all the cookers (not a popularity contest?)

This event gets BIG! We’ve had contestants run out of chili before the voting ended, and every person who gets to taste your chili is a potential vote.

Plan on preparing approximately 4–6 gallons of chili and come prepared with enough tasting cups (3-5oz) for 200+ people and any toppers (sour cream, onions, cheese, etc).  We will provide the spoons

NO SIDE DISHES ALLOWED. This is strictly a chili cook-off (so no cornbread, biscuits, etc - only toppers) 

Each contestant provides their own:
• Chili - prepared ahead of time and ready to serve
• A butane stove or other safe way to keep your chili hot throughout the competition
• Serving utensils - ladles, etc.
• Tasting cups - 3-5oz maximum
• Napkins

You’ll be assigned a number and voting box. Tasters will receive ONE voting ticket.  We will be collecting a $5 chili tasting pass and this money will be split between the chili cookers to help offset some of your cost. 

Tasting ends at 6:45 PM. We’ll tally the votes and crown our 2026 Chili Cook-Off Champions!?

If you haven’t been to Sunday Music in the Park before (near the library), we’ll be on the far upper right side of Civic Center Lawn when you’re facing the stage, You can’t miss us - we’re the big group where everyone is standing around having fun.
