On Sunday, December 14, join the Center for Culinary Culture—Home of The Cocktail Collection &amp; EatsDrinksTV in welcoming Chef Glenda Galván-García, Founding Executive Chef of Granville Restaurants and author of The Whole Enchilada: Mexican Recipes Full of History &amp; Fun, to LA's Arts District for a pan-American how-to in tamales. After the program, taste examples of Glenda's handiwork, have her sign a copy of her book, enjoy refreshments courtesy Del Real Foods and Melissa's Produce, and indulge in a Cazcanes Tequila cocktail!

ABOUT CHEF GLENDA
As a tastemaker in her 25-plus-year career, Glenda Galván-García has created award-winning foods found everywhere from grocery store shelves to restaurant chains. The culmination of her education and professional culinary experience is her debut cookbook, The Whole Enchilada: Mexican Recipes Full of History and Fun, winner of the Best Cookbook Award from the International Latino Book Awards.

Initially conceived as a research project while she was a Chicano/Latino Studies major, the book reflects her deep love for her heritage and her mission to share a proud, yet often overlooked, history. Driven to preserve culinary traditions, she is delighted to inspire audiences to cook the food of her ancestors while fostering a sense of empowerment and cultural pride.

Along with her education in Latino studies and travels abroad, she is both Executive Chef and a Research &amp; Development Chef to the food industry. She has consulted with an array of restaurant chains, retailers, and food manufacturers, including Whole Foods Market, Mission Tortillas, Driscoll’s Berries, Polly’s Pies, La Salsa, Farmer John, and US Foodservice. Her recipes have been published in a cookbook for Warner Brothers Consumer Products and she has developed products for Trader Joe’s. Her products have been launched in Whole Foods with a line of entrees from Nourished Foods, products that helped end hunger by giving back to the community. She is proud to have conducted cooking demonstrations for The Center for Latin Culinary Arts and History, the brainchild of the father of modern Mexican Cuisine, chef John Rivera Sedlar. At IACP conferences, she has conducted panel discussions on "Nurturing Our Future Gastronomes," encouraging kids in the kitchen. She has enjoyed leading cooking and nutrition classes of elementary students for Sunkist cooperative and Walt Disney Pictures.

She has served as Executive Chef at Granville Restaurants for over 15 years. The casual dining concept opened to rave reviews for its eclectic, organic upscale menu and opened its fifth location in North Hollywood following its success in Pasadena. Her cooking has been enjoyed by a number of celebrities, including John Legend, Chrissy Tiegen, and George Lopez and across Los Angeles through the numerous cooking demonstrations and endorsements she has executed. She was honored to be a part of the Driscoll’s Berries ideation team with Master Chefs at the Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park, NY. She continues her culinary education with courses at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone and E-Cornell University, along with Food Science &amp; Culinology courses with Research Chefs Association.
