- **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 24 Oct, 2026 at 09:00 am – Sun, 25 Oct, 2026 at 03:00 pm (-07:00)
- **Event Description**: This two-day experiential workshop explores cultural reconnection through living traditional knowledgeAbout this EventCultural reconnection is more than learning ancestral practices or collecting information about where we come from. It also involves understanding how knowledge is learned and transmitted, strengthening relationships with family and community, developing relationships with the territory where we live today, and recognizing the responsibilities that come with carrying cultural knowledge.Through the four pillars of cultural reconnection and different ways of learning and knowing, we will explore how cultural knowledge can remain living across migration, interrupted transmission, and changing territories. The hands-on portion brings these ideas into practice through selected plant allies, herbal preparations, traditional baths, limpias, rebozo, touch, water, rest, and personal and family care. Rather than collecting techniques or recipes, we will focus on learning through observation, relationship, practice, and context.Dates, Time & LocationSaturday, October 249:00 AM – 3:00 PMSunday, October 259:00 AM – 3:00 PM12 hours of in-person learning and hands-on practice5469 Huntington Dr NLos Angeles, CaliforniaReciprocity-Based RegistrationThis workshop uses a reciprocity-based registration model. Everyone receives the same workshop, materials, and hands-on instruction regardless of the registration level selected. The different rates are intended to make the workshop accessible while also recognizing that accessibility must be sustainable for the person providing the work.Community Access — $180For participants experiencing a meaningful financial barrier. This limited early-access rate is available through September 15. If this rate is financially accessible to you, I invite you to choose Community Supported or above.Community Supported — $250For participants who need some financial flexibility but are able to contribute more than the Community Access rate.Sustainable Value — $300This is the rate that allows this workshop to be offered sustainably. It reflects not only the hours of instruction, but also the preparation, materials, travel from Ohio, transportation, lodging, meals, and the time required to bring this workshop to another community.Community Sustainer — $350For participants who have greater financial capacity and would like to contribute beyond the Sustainable Value. This helps offset Community Access registrations and supports my ability to continue bringing this work to other communities.Scholarship Sponsor — $400This level is for participants who would like their registration to directly help another person access the workshop. For every Scholarship Sponsor registration, a partial scholarship will be made available to someone who otherwise could not afford to attend. How the Reciprocity Model Works$180 — Community AccessI need significant financial accessibility to participate.$250 — Community SupportedI need some financial flexibility.$300 — Sustainable ValueI can pay the amount that sustainably supports this workshop.$350 — Community SustainerI can contribute beyond Sustainable Value.$400 — Scholarship SponsorI can contribute at a level that directly creates additional scholarship access.Payment Plans Are Available, contact .Please do not hesitate to ask about a payment plan.
