In this talk, Dr. Jaimie Arona Krems will describe how evolution has wired our brains for friendship, exploring what friends do for us—and why establishing these connections is often more challenging than we realize. By weaving together cutting-edge research from cognitive psychology, evolutionary anthropology, and social neuroscience, Dr. Krems will help us harness the emerging science of friendship to foster more robust communities and a brighter social future.

Dr. Jaimie Arona Krems is a tenured Associate Professor of Psychology at UCLA and the Co-founder/Director of the UCLA Center for Friendship Research—the first academic hub dedicated to understanding and strengthening social connections. Her influential research has appeared in top-tier journals and media outlets like The New York Times and The Atlantic.
