The evening will begin with the 2026 election of club officers. Current club members should attend in person or via Zoom to cast their votes.

Then we’ll see two slideshows from club vice president Chris Casady – first a look at the LA County Museum of Art as it once was, followed by a special preview of Chris’ updated Star Wars behind-the-scenes presentation for the upcoming 3D-Con, featuring 12 never before seen stereo images. Chris describes his two shows:

"With the news last month that Los Angeles County Museum of Art was finally opening its $800,000. much heralded yet still controversial starchitecture vanity art museum I remembered that I had made 3D shots of another construction project on that exact same site in 1986. Living as I did one block from LACMA at the time I felt a calling to document the remodel and construction of additions to the original iconic buildings designed by William Pereira in 1965.  Upon hearing of the reopening I thought it appropriate to haul out those photos and take a look at a photographic record of the birth of something that has since been wiped off the face of the earth. I found only a dozen photos but with the miracle of cropping to 16X9 format I’ve made it seem like there are more. Combined with some aerial screen grabs from contemporary mapping applications and further augmented with other historic photos of LACMA in its first year, provided by Susan Pinsky, I’ve“A special treat this week, also from the archives, 12 newly discovered never before seen record shots taken inside the Model Shop at Industrial Light and Magic during the making of Star Wars in 1977. These 49 year old negatives were scanned for the first time last month and I’ve supplemented these discoveries with select highlights from my regular Star Wars show that will be seen in July at the annual National Stereoscopic Association’s 3D-Con in Albuquerque, Mew Mexico. Consider this brief 18 slide program a teaser for the upcoming full show at 3D-Con. Anyone not attending NSA this year will at least have their appetites whetted by this teaser show. Come to the Velaslavasay Panorama on June 18.” -Chris Casady

Time permitting, we will also take a look at a recent 3-D conversion of a classic 1918 silent film, and the meeting will conclude with a club member “Show-and-Tell.” We would love to see your favorite 3-D images and collectibles. Members are encouraged to share an item of interest with the rest of the attendees. Share you favorite photos, videos, and 3-D items.
