Relocating to New York City in the early 2000s, Brown refined his craft under jazz masters Slide Hampton, Steve Davis, and Barry Harris. He established himself as an in-demand soloist and collaborator, earning a semi-finalist spot in the prestigious 2003 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Trombone Competition and receiving two grants from the Canada Council for the Arts.Throughout his career, Brown has balanced dynamic work as a bandleader with extensive high-profile sideman appearances.
