ABOUT THE BOOK: Psycho, Vertigo and North by Northwest are just three of the iconic thrillers made by Alfred Hitchcock in collaboration with his friend, the ground-breaking, Oscar-winning composer Bernard Herrmann (Citizen Kane, Taxi Driver). Join us as Herrmann’s biographer, Steven C. Smith, shares with us rare video and audio from the making of these classic movies, and tells the colorful story of the brilliant, strong-willed duo, whose work has inspired everyone from the Beatles and Lady Gaga to Quentin Tarantino. Steven will also be signing copies of his new book, Hitchcock & Herrmann: The Friendship and Film Scores That Changed Cinema. Danny Elfman has called Steven's book “essential,” and John Williams describes it as a “wonderful study of two of history's most lovable incorrigibles.”

ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Steven C. Smith is a four-time Emmy-nominated producer and an award-winning author. His over 200 documentaries about film and music include collaborations with Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, George Lucas, Stephen Sondheim, John Williams, Julie Andrews, and Sidney Poitier. He is the author of biographies of composers Bernard Herrmann and Max Steiner, and he has lectured at the Library of Congress, the American Film Institute, and the Academy of Motion Pictures Museum.

ABOUT THE CLUB: Founded in 1925, the Los Angeles Breakfast Club still thrives with food, friendship, and fun. Our meetings are held in our clubhouse, Friendship Auditorium, located at 3201 Riverside Drive, near the corner of Los Feliz Boulevard, in Griffith Park. Best described as a variety show, attendees enjoy a catered breakfast, silly songs, club traditions, and an interesting presentation from a guest speaker.

TICKETS: Sales on labreakfastclub.com close 48 hours before breakfast. Non-members are $35 and Members receive a 34% discount when logged into their Membership Portal.

Please arrive between 6:45 - 7:00 AM sharp! Doors close at 7:15 AM. Your admission includes a buffet breakfast, enjoyment of our 100-year-old club traditions, plus a special presentation from our Speaker of the Week!

HEALTH & SAFETY: Surgical disposable face masks or medical-grade masks (i.e., KN95, KF94, N95) are strongly recommended when not eating or drinking, especially during the cold and flu season, and will be provided on request.
