In celebration of Pride Month, Art/Space 114 is honored to present Beyond June: Queerness in Art and the Politics of Visibility—a special artist conversation featuring Laurie Lipton, Lili Lakich, Susan Feldman, and S.C. Mero, in dialogue with cultural commentator and podcast host Liz Culley (Cool Cool Cool, The Hollywood Reporter).
This evening brings together three queer artists and a devoted ally for a candid exploration of how identity informs practice. From formative experiences to the politics of visibility, the conversation will trace the role of queerness and womanhood in shaping artistic voice and visual language.
Held within the context of our current show, Darkness and Light, this discussion invites audiences to consider the stakes of creative expression in a time of cultural retrenchment—and the radical power of art to illuminate, resist, and transform.
