See Exhibit A: Jane Fonda's & Roger Vadim's sci-fi comedy WTF movie Barbarella. Celebrity couple Vadim and Fonda wanted to work together and choose this sci-fi comic to adapt in wild color. Fonda's Barbarella is a space traveller and rep for the Earth who must travel to some pretty amazingly production designed spaceships and planets to stop a weapon from being used to end humanity. Along the way she meets an angel , gets trapped in a labyrinth, makes a sex machine explode (you gotta see the movie).
