Join us for…

A reliable, welcoming meetup for people who love nature and want to get outdoors on Saturdays.

A flexible system: you pick your route, invite family and friends, and come as you are.

A path to better health, clearer minds, and lasting camaraderie.

Here’s where we’ll meet you…

Time:** 6:45AM Saturdays
Location:** Rancho San Antonio Lot 6

If you’re new, just arrive a few minutes early and we’ll point you to the group.

Why every Saturday at Rancho…

Consistency that sticks: A fixed early-morning schedule helps you build lasting habits and start your weekend with momentum.

Low-stress, high-fun: We’re not racers; we’re hikers and trail runners who want to move together, encourage one another, and enjoy the scenery.

Family-friendly and welcoming: Invite friends, kids, or a dog (where permitted). The more, the merrier.

Healthy habits, lasting results: Regular activity improves endurance, strength, mood, sleep, and overall well-being.

Choice and variety: Pick from a range of trail options to match your mood, distance, or time constraints.

Have a place to train for you longer more challenging hikes….

Build endurance progressively: Repeated weekly exposure to sustained movement enhances cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance, and fatigue resistance, so longer treks feel easier over time.

Develops efficient pacing: With a range of distances, you’ll learn how to pace yourself—start steady, conserve energy, and finish strong, which is essential for multi-day or high-elevation adventures.

Strengthens climbing capability: Regular incline and varied terrain trail routes train your legs, glutes, and core to tackle longer ascents with less effort.

Improves recovery and resilience: Consistent hiking teaches your body how to recover between miles, reducing soreness and injury risk on longer hikes.

Enhances navigation and decision-making: Group hikes encourage you to assess terrain, weather, and regroup points, a critical skill when planning extended trips in unfamiliar terrain.

Mental toughness and trail confidence: Regular exposure to longer routes builds confidence, reduces overwhelm, and reinforces a can-do mindset for big hikes, like weekend long days or alpine expeditions.

Habit stacking for peak adventures: This program creates a reliable habit you can attach to bigger goals—finish a 12–20 mile day, then extend to weekend or backcountry treks with confidence.

Trail options (choose your adventure)

We offer a curated selection of routes on AllTrails—each with its own character and challenge.

You’re welcome to do any of these with the group; you can also split into smaller groups if you want to tailor pace or distance.

Note: Distances are from AllTrails descriptions; actual group pace will be determined by who you are hiking or running with.

How the group works

Plan your week: Check the trail options above and decide which route you’d like to tackle.

You can switch between shorter (4–7 miles) and longer (9–18 miles) options depending on energy and weather.

Lead or follow: If you’d like to lead a particular hike, say so in the group chat. We’ll rotate leaders to share the responsibility and bring fresh perspectives.

Bring your circle: Invite friends, family, or neighbors.

Hiking with others is more enjoyable and provides extra motivation.

Pace and safety: We’ll keep a conversational pace at the start so everyone can warm up gradually. We’ll also set a rough regroup point so nobody gets dropped.

What to bring

Comfortable hiking shoes or trail runners
Layers suitable for cool morning temps
Water (hydration as priority)
Light snacks or a small energy boost
Sunscreen and a hat; sunglasses for sun protection
A small first aid kit if you have one (blister care is helpful)

Arrive a few minutes early and introduce yourself to the group.

Choose a trail option that fits your energy and join the group that matches your pace.
