Top Shelf Thursdays at the Terp Market Hollywood

Flavors were definitely on point at the first Top Shelf Thursday in SoCal on October 5th. Panacea and AGM brought the heat. Entry A was Blood Orange Budder and Entry C was Blood Orange Shatter from Panacea. Entry B was some Forbidden Fruit Sauce and Entry D was some Forbidden Fruit Live Resin by AGM Farms.

If you're familiar with Panacea, a concentrate company from Santa Cruz, you're familiar with Blood Orange. It's been a staple in their arsenal since Magweedo was a part of it. Not many in the audience that was mostly from SoCal however had ever tried it, and those that judged could tell this was not your typical tangie variety. Sweet Oranges with a bit of the rind. AGM went with Forbidden Fruit, a strain bred specifically for concentrates by the founder of Chameleon Extracts. You could tell that the material used to make the entries came from a source not too far removed from its creator. People that tried it shared their reactions and it ranged from mango to fruit punch to fruit salad. By the end of the night the judges had demolished the live resin.

In the end the Blood Orange Budder was the big winner and Panacea received a custom pendent by KBerg who is making all the prizes for round 1. In addition Panacea will advance to the next round. Something about the whip must've subtly mellowed out the flavor and made for a smooth easy dab that left a complex set of flavors lingering in your mouth for a few minutes after.

Next week October 12th Master Yoda/Kush Conncention face off against Pissing Excellence. Don't miss it.
