Interested in Crowd Funding? Or maybe just a little...Kick-Curious?
Next Tuesday at Collab we manage to take two of our most popular topics...Film and Kickstarter...and crash them right into each other.
We have 5 special filmmaker presentations this month. 4 of them recently successfully reached their crowd funding goals for their film projects and the 5th is currently in progress with over $40k raised and 30 days to go.
Each of them will give a talk, show some video and do a little Q&A on their own projects.
And due to the popularity of our last crowd funding special (and in order to get all of you who missed it to stop hitting me up for a personal synopsis) I'll be hosting and moderating a panel discussion entitled:
"CrowdFund A Dream:
Kickstarter, IndieGoGo and the Future of Creative Financing"
(my working title... I'm open to suggestions.)
OUR GUEST FILMMAKERS:
MONTANA MANN "Upstairs"... Raised $8172
WENDY HAINES "Sophisticated: The Untold Hollywood Story of Dorothy Arzner" ...Raised $100,641
SAMUEL JORGENSEN "Singularity" ...Raised $10,743
ZEE HATLEY "MILE... MILE & A HALF"...Raised $85,405
JILL D'ANGELICA from "Life Inside Out" ...Raised $41,000 of $35,000 goal http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1732741014/life-inside-out
BRYN PRYOR "Cowboys & Engines" ...In progress, currently at $43,741
And your moderator and panel host:
KEVIN FLINT- Knows very little about film but is one of the world's leading experts and biggest know-it-alls on crowd funding. Just ask him. (just as long as you do as he says, not as he did.)
After the formal presentations and panels, we welcome all of our filmmaker friends who have not submitted to show a film, short, or do a presentation to share their own work on our big screen. So bring a DVD, thumb drive, or your web link, and let the world know what you are accomplishing!
And of course we'll have all the awesome networking, team ups, gig opportunities and general awesomeness that makes Collab thrive!
