Join Us in Uplifting Men and Boys of Color in California - Tuesday 10.8.19
On Tuesday, October 8, 2019 we will convene a diverse set of professionals to explore opportunities, actions and strategies that can be utilized to Uplift Men and Boys of Color (MBOC) and accomplish My Brothers Keeper (MBK) objectives in California. Speakers include public health and mental health practitioners, non-profit organizations, health departments, policy-makers, funders, artists, community advocates, law enforcement and probation, researchers, school personnel, local elected officials and youth. We expect a crowd of up to 125+ participants representing dozens of organizations convening to learn more about tools and concepts that can be used to uplift men/boys and women/girls of color in California.
Uplifting Men and Boys of Color (MBOC) in California
(1) convene a diverse set stakeholders whose work is focused on uplifting MBOC and MBK initiatives;
(2) discuss barriers/challenges to and solutions for uplifting MBOC and accomplishing MBK-related goals and objectives;
(3) describe ongoing efforts and emerging opportunities to uplift MBOC and advance MBK-related goals;
(4) analyze challenges encountered in uplifting MBOC and/or MBK and share lessons learned; and,
(5) elevate promising practices for uplifting MBOC and accomplishing MBK-related objectives.

Who Should Attend
People and organizations (everyone) who support and/or are working to uplift Men and Boys & Women and Girls of Color in California are welcome to attend the 2019 Uplifting Men and Boys of Color in California Conference. Students and youth of color are strongly encouraged to attend, welcome to participate in discussions and partake in all conference events. Also, adults who work with, or whose work impacts/is intended to impact, MBOC are also strongly encouraged to attend including: Advocates, Coalition members, Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence, Educators, Gang Prevention and Intervention Task Force participants, Mental Health professionals, My Brother's Keeper (MBK) projects, Public Health professionals, Researchers, School District personnel, Students, Teachers, Trauma Prevention, Violence Prevention experts, Youth Development,
Continental breakfast, vegetarian/vegan lunch, snacks, tea and coffee will be available to registered attendees.
