- **Event Description**: We are so happy to bring yoga back to the Chappapeela Crafts classroom. As part of our soft launch we are offering a complimentary class in order to introduce you to our space and our teacher, Whitney Mixon.  Due to limited space, attendees must RSVP in advance.  Limited to 15 attendees


This restorative yoga class with sound bath meditation invites you to journey inwards.  Through gentle supportive postures and intentional breath practices, we awaken inner stillness and guide you towards deeper harmony… mind and body.

Restorative Yoga is a  slow, quiet practice, often using supportive props and long holds. Seated poses or laying down postures emphasize complete support and relaxation. This practice allows the “rest-and-digest” nervous system state to take center stage to promote deep healing, nervous system regulation, and emotional release. Benefits include a reduction of cortisol, better sleep, and emotional resilience.

Adding to these benefits, we will follow our restorative practice with a sound bath meditation in which the soothing sound from crystal bowls will guide your full body listening experience and meditative state.
 

Please bring:  Yoga mat, blanket/pillow(s) for sound bath, and water.

Optional to bring: eye cover and yoga bolster or anything you need for comfort while laying on the floor such as a nap mat.

Whitney is a National Certified Counselor and licensed therapist in Louisiana and Texas. She obtained her yoga teacher certification from My Vinyasa Practice located in Austin, Texas. Her experience includes teaching at The Pilates and Yoga Loft, Lululemon Lakeside, yoga and sound baths for Twin Steeples Art center, yoga at Parks & Rec Denham Springs, sound baths for SADD Club x Livingston Parish Teachers, corporate wellness for Stratos Wealth Partners National Meeting 2025 and leading small group and corporate wellness retreats with Luna Souls Retreats.  She looks forward to welcoming you to class!
