As part of the fantastic On The Water event, hosted by Welcome to Looe and Polperro, we at Dive Looe are heading out to a local wreck. 

We will be going to the James Eagan Layne (JEL), a stunning dive and one of the most popular wrecks in the country.
Suitable for all from Open Water Diver, this accessible wreck offers fascinating history, swim throughs, abundant wildlife and great photography opportunities. 

The JEL was a WW2 US Liberty ship, torpedoed off the Eddystone by Kapitan Leutnant Ernst Cordes, in command of U1195. She tried to get to Plymouth but her stern collapsed and she went down in Whitsand Bay.
