East Texas Artists Forum in collaboration with Freudenfreude is excited to present the Mike Meyer Hand Lettering Workshop at the Longview Arboretum & Nature Center, March 25, 26 & 27.
Mike is a renowned sign painter and lettering educator, he’s spent years traveling and teaching artists at every level, keeping the tradition of hand lettering alive, accessible, and full of soul.
This is a workshop for people who care about making things, not just consuming them. This one is for visual artists and painters, graphic designers and illustrators, muralists and fabricators, lettering artists and calligraphers, tattoo artists, art students and educators, makers and creative entrepreneurs — and especially for artists who are feeling a little burned out and want to reconnect with the joy of making something real, by hand. You’ll work with brushes, paint, and lettering tools while learning both the fundamentals and the subtle techniques that make letters come alive. Just as important, you’ll be sharing the space with other artists who care deeply about process, craft, and community.
Only 10 spots available. If you’re coming in from beyond the pine curtain, let us know and we’ll do our best to help work out accommodations.
