Service Through Discomfort
Sometimes, our desire to serve others is overshadowed by our hesitations—social anxiety, the fear of making mistakes, or uncertainty about what to do. Yet, we can overcome these barriers and discover how to serve despite them. Let’s explore strategies to step beyond our fears!
About Paolo Sparti
Hi, I’m Paolo Sparti. I am a short, white, Italian-American transgender man from near Atlanta, Georgia. I am a master of Divinity student at Iliff School of Theology and an aspirant for ordination by the UUA. I have worked in horticulture for 15 years and am currently a parks maintenance technician. I aspire to integrate this love for horticulture into my future ministry.
What to Expect from a LUUP Gathering
The LUUP community gathers each 2nd and 4th Friday. Check with the listing for each Friday for specifics, as we experiment with our format. This month, we will be seated in the dining area with the service interspersed with the meal, engaging all ages throughout the meal.
Feel free to join at any time during the evening or drop by and pick up a supper whether you are attending our service or not. We try to offer dietary options including vegan and gluten free, but if you have special needs you may wish to bring your own. We invite you to bring a take home container to enjoy some leftovers. There is no charge.
These evenings are for all-ages and welcoming to persons vulnerable to covid. We encourage mask wearing. Supper will be unmasked so plan according to your needs. Please dress comfortably, the space is accessible for mobility, and has an all-gender restroom.
