The Caer Galen Scribes' office has purchased a bit of real goatskin vellum. In squaring up the animal-hide shapes, we have a lot of off-cuts that are perfect for practice. So let's do that!
If you've never worked on vellum before, this is your chance. If you HAVE, and want to some more, this is your chance! Bring your pen, your gouache, your watercolors, whatever you have and need for this rare opportunity.
We'll start off discussing what differences to expect, and then we'll move directly in to writing and painting on the smaller scraps - to whet our appetites and build our confidence all at once.
And then the main attraction - we have a number of pieces that are between an inch and two inches wide and a few inches long - perfect for bookmarks.
Finally, if someone has a lot of confidence, and a small enough pen, we have a few bigger pieces (4x4" to 4x6") that we could conceivably put a full scroll on. Are YOU that brave scribe?
