- **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 01 Aug, 2026 at 01:00 pm – Sat, 01 Aug, 2026 at 04:00 pm
- **Event Description**: Slow down this Lammas with a guided nature walk, poetry & journalling. Gather inspiration and reflect, with guest host Beth Calverley ✨About this EventWhat to expectWe’re gathering to celebrate Lammas, one of the seasonal festivals on the Wheel of the Year. Lammas is the midpoint between the summer solstice - the longest day of the year - and the autumn equinox, and is associated with harvest, gratitude, and release. This workshop invites you to take time out, making space to slow down, be grounded, and connect to nature. We’ll begin with a gratitude walk through Ashton Court Estate, a national Site of Specific Scientific Interest, rich with wildflower grasslands, woodlands, ponds, ancient oak trees, and deer. We’ll pause along the way to notice the details of the landscape, collect natural materials, and capture moments through writing, sketching, and reflection. You’ll receive a beautifully crafted journal created especially for this workshop by local maker Izzi, of Dusted Sunshine Sketchbooks (www.etsy.com/shop/dustedsunshine). You’ll start your nature journal by writing, drawing and collaging in it during the workshop, then take it with you to continue your own creative rituals at home.Beth Calverley, an amazing local poet, will be joining us to support you in writing poetry along the route, offering moments of inspiration, stillness and perspective as we move through the space. After the walk, we’ll gather in the café space to reflect, write and shape what you’ve gathered into something meaningful, whether that’s poetry, journalling, or simply quiet observation. There will also be time to buy refreshments from the cafe, which serves locally sourced, healthy and sustainable food and a great selection of hot and cold drinks.Together, we’ll honour themes of gratitude, abundance and gentle release, taking time to recognise what you’ve grown, and what you’re ready to carry forward or let go of. Expect a calm, welcoming space to slow down, connect with nature, and share the meaningful seasonal festival of Lammas with others. This workshop is for you if:You’re craving time outdoors and a break from a busy summerYou enjoy mindful walks, journalling and creative reflection, or would like to try themYou want to feel more connected to nature and seasonal cyclesYou’d like to explore poetry, writing, or nature collage, but don’t know where to startYou’re ready to reflect on what’s growing in your life and give thanksYou enjoy creative practices like sketching, but maybe need more guidanceYour afternoon overview:A guided gratitude walk through Ashton Court EstateExpert guidance from poet Beth Calverley to write your own wordsA bespoke journal by Dusted Sunshine Sketchbooks to use and take homeTime to write, draw, reflect, and collect natural materialsA relaxed café session to pause, rest, and continue your journallingA small, friendly group with room for both connection and quiet.
