- **Event Description**: Artist talk exploring Camille's new immersive work, developed during her residency at Punchdrunk and The Architectural Association Dip12.About this EventAs part of the programme accompanying our current exhibition From the Land, artist Camille Dunlop will discuss Within Katla, her new immersive performance situated at the threshold between body and landscape, myth and data, ice and fire. Set in southern Iceland, where the subglacial volcano Katla stirs beneath a rapidly retreating glacier, the work weaves together Icelandic folklore, digital environments, motion capture, spatial sound, and live seismic data to create a visceral encounter with a landscape in flux.Within Katla was created by Camille Dunlop, in collaboration with Leah Wallace, Kevin Pollard and Ed Lewis, during Camille’s artist residency at Punchdrunk and in Dip 12 at the Architectural Association. The event will explore the development of the work and the ideas behind the performance, alongside a screening of a film capturing Within Katla in performance, directed by Matt Edgson.Camille Dunlop is a London-based artist, Digital-Spatial Designer and Lecturer with a background in architecture. Working across immersive installation, film, and performance, she uses emerging technologies to explore the relationships between bodies, landscapes, and movement. Alongside her creative practice, she teaches at the Bartlett School of Architecture and Central Saint Martins.From the Land brings together works that examine the relationship between architecture and the living world. The projects approach architecture as a moment in a broader material flow, one that begins in the landscapes where resources are sourced, passes through the built environment, and ultimately returns to the earth.
