Benedict Taylor:

Benedict Taylor is a solo violist & composer. He is an active figure within the area of contemporary string performance, at the forefront of the British & European new and improvised music scene.

He performs, records & composes internationally, featuring in many leading venues and festivals including: Cafe Oto, Jazz en Nord France, Royal Court Theatre, The Vortex, Ronnie Scott's, BBC Arts Online, BBC Radio 3 & 2, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, London Contemporary Music Festival, Aldeburgh Festival, Cantiere D'Arte di Montepulciano, Edinburgh Fringe, CRAM Festival, The Barbican, Royal Albert Hall, Southbank Centre, ICA London, Radio Libertaire Paris, Resonance FM London. As an improviser, he has worked with Evan Parker, Terry Day, Keith Tippett, Wadada Leo Smith, Alex Ward, Renee Baker, Steve Beresford, Angharad Davies, Hannah Marshall, Phil Minton, Pat Thomas, Tetsu Saito, Gianni Mimmo, Veryan Weston, Sylvia Hallett, Dirk Serries amongst others. He is involved with a number of higher education institutions, giving lectures in performance, improvisation & composition at the Royal College of Music, City University of London, Goldsmiths College, Royal Holloway College London. He is the founder of CRAM, a music collective and independent label.

Daniel Thompson:

Daniel was born in Norfolk, England and since 2005 currently resides in hackney, london, other than a couple of years playing violin as a child, his musical studies didn’t seriously begin until his late teens.� �Largely self-taught, after moving to London in 2005 Daniel embarked upon a life changing period. He studied with the guitarist John Russell for two years, “which provided me with one of the richest and most rewarding musical experiences of my life” and Daniel also spent many evenings listening to the trio of John Edwards, Tony Marsh and Evan Parker at The Vortex in East London who “collectively confirmed my musical direction”.��Daniel is A part of the fertile improvising music scene and has played at many venues and festivals across the UK and Europe. As well as being a musician Daniel has been organising concerts since 2007 and organised the monthly ‘Foley Street improvised music concert series' in London during the years 2013 and 2016.��As well as performing solo and with other musicians in many ad-hoc improvising situations Daniel also performs in long-term collaborations or “working groups”.� �Recent collaborations (both ad-hoc and long-term) have seen Daniel performing and or recording with Neil Metcalfe, Steve Noble, Caroline Kraabel, Tom Jackson, Vid Drasler, Hannah Marshall, Adam Bohman, Alex Ward, John Edwards, Benedict Taylor, Evan Parker, Max Reed, Lauri Hyvärinen, Roland Ramanan, Adrian Northover, Marcello Magliocchi, Javier Carmona, Guillaume Viltard and The London Improvisers Orchestra amongst many others.� �Daniel’s recordings can be found on the labels Leo Records, Creative Sources, FMR AND Confront Recordings amongst others. Pat Thomas:

Pat Thomas studied classical piano from aged 8 and started playing Jazz from the age of 16. He has since gone on to develop an utterly unique style - embracing improvisation, jazz and new music. He has played with Derek Bailey in Company Week (1990/91) and in the trio AND (with Noble) – with Tony Oxley’s Quartet and Celebration Orchestra and in Duo with Lol Coxhill.

Tom Jackson:

Tom Jackson is a clarinettist and saxophonist active in London and Europe, largely dedicated to the fields of contemporary classical music and free improvisation. He maintains an extensive and eclectic performance schedule and has performed throughout Europe, Australia and Asia.
