Our curated day events are designed to immerse you in the beauty of nature while igniting your creative spark.Collaborate with nature to discover unique eco-print and embroidery techniques to create your own unique textile memory archive, as part of the Touch Grass community flag.Drawing on abstracted stories, the earth and ancestral memory. A meditative, creative tactile workshop.You will learn the art of Hapazome (flower pounding) an instant botanical printing technique where the natural pigments and shapes of fresh flowers and leaves are transferred directly onto fabric through hammering. This workshop is facilitated by Jaixia. Jaixia Blue is an interdisciplinary storyteller and facilitator of meditative creative workshops, whose artistry bridges textile art, song, poetry, and film into a deeply emotive practice. Born in West London, (MA Royal College of Art) her works explore themes of her matrilineal ancestry, ecology, dreams and diasporic memory through the slow processes of natural dyeing, and screen printing. Working with foraged flora and healing herbs, she creates textiles that become living archives.This workshop and several others are being hosted to celebrate the launch of our first exhibition, Earth to Us. An archive of queer folk of colour in nature. The lift has key card access which is available from the person leading the workshop. The lift dimensions are 150 cm x 108 cm x 213 cm. The lift door dimensions are 90 cm x 200 cm.Accessible toilets and baby change facilities are available on the ground and first floor.
