Our curated day events are designed to immerse you in the beauty of nature while igniting your creative spark.Discover how to create unique sun prints with cyanotype and embroidery onto textiles to design your own inner self portrait. Capture the present moment through layering found and personal objects to create a resist print. You will then be guided on how to accentuate areas with hand embroidery techniques Cyanotype is a hands-on photographic sun printing technique that creates striking blue-and-white images.No previous experience needed — just come along, get creative, and enjoy making something completely your own!This workshop is facilitated by Jaixia. Jaixia Blue is an interdisciplinary storyteller and facilitator of meditative creative workshops, whose artistry bridges textile art, song, poetry, and film into a deeply emotive practice. Born in West London, (MA Royal College of Art) her works explore themes of her matrilineal ancestry, ecology, dreams and diasporic memory through the slow processes of natural dyeing, and screen printing. Working with foraged flora and healing herbs, she creates textiles that become living archives.This workshop and several others are being hosted to celebrate the launch of our first exhibition, Earth to Us. An archive of queer folk of colour in nature. From there to the venue there's one set of steps in the street but there is a ramp option. The ground floor is accessible and has 1 accessible toilet with wheelchair space.There are 2 steps down to the room we will be using. There is a foldout ramp available which has a 77cm clearance at the bottom of it to navigate the stone firepit in the room.
