Delayed or missed diagnosis of testicular torsion can result in poor outcomes, with resulting orchidectomy, and it is also a cause of litigation.The half day study day will include a presentation covering the principles and evidence-based practice with the remainder of the session, individual practical hands on training of the safe assessment and surgery in the child with acute scrotum. The course aims to enable attendees to understand the pathologies present, the options, the investigations and what operation to do.The wetlab will run twice in the day. You will only need to book one session:Morning Wetlab 09:00-12:30Afternoon Wetlab 13:30-17:00Target Audience This is aimed at adult urology trainees, adult surgery trainees and paediatric surgical trainees to explain safe assessment and surgery in the child with acute scrotum.Faculty The faculty will be made up of adult and paediatric urologists from across the network. We aim to have one faculty per two participants to ensure you get the best education experiences .
