He is a Non-resident Fellow at the Lowy Institute and an Associate Research Fellow at IFRI, and formerly headed the Russia and Eurasia Programme at Chatham House. His books include (2017), (2015), and his latest, (2025).Professor Mark Galeotti is a leading expert on modern Russia, security affairs, and transnational organised crime. Director of Mayak Intelligence and honorary professor at UCL SSEES, he is also a senior associate fellow at RUSI. A prolific commentator and host of the In Moscow’s Shadows podcast, he is a sought-after speaker on Russian foreign and security policy.
