The South London Soul Train w/The Getup (Live) + Moh on 4 Floors

GET DOWN, WE GOT THE GETUP (LIVE)! Sat Sep 15 - The South London Soul Train keeps coming on strong, hitting you positively hard all night long with 4 floors and 5 carriages, locked, loaded and ready to take no prisoners. An all out assault on all of yours senses, as we continue our on-going mission to move your mind and body + force feed yoh soul with the absolute best of times at The CLF Art Cafe, Block A, Bussey Building https://www.residentadvisor.net/events/1133937

LEVEL 1 - Your host with the absolute most JAZZHEADCHRONIC dropping another payload of funk, soul, groove, disco, brass, breaks, beats, latin n' hip hop and waiting for the audio shrapnel to hit! DEEP! From the soles of yoh feet to the core of your soul. The Jazzhead joined by equally righteous DJ and Mukatsuku Records Founder NIK WESTON here to open the floor with a Disco audio blow torch. Scorchio!

The duo of most talented DJs joined by Hammond + Drum n’ Soul Driven UK Live stage stormers , the well funky, but ultimately super soulful GETUP [Live]. Plus and as always, we got so much more on 4 floors. Prepare yourselves!

THE GETUP (LIVE)

True heavyweights in the Hammond Funk genre, The Getup are fast establishing a reputation for irresistible grooves, infectious melodies and energetic performances that have been shaking dance floors since 2004.

With fans including Craig Charles (Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show, BBC Radio 6), Snowboy (DJ & Percussionist) and a wealth of club and festival goers across the UK and Europe. The Getup sold out of their debut release, Getup & Groove

The Getup's unique sound can be attributed, not only to their influences - Booker T, Charles Earland, Brian Auger, Eddie Russ and many of those rare funk 45's from the 50s and 60s; also to the list of bands that the members have worked with - The James Taylor Quartet, Brand New Heavies, Reuben Wilson, Sir Joe Quarterman and Funkshone among them. Add to this the band's dedication to an authentic, raw funk sound favouring real Hammond organ, analogue recording equipment, soulful vocals and hip horn arrangements and it's easy to see why The Getup are packing out venues up and down the country, popping out your radio on a weekly basis, and delighting club DJ's with their break-laden funk workouts! Truly can't wait to welcome them back to The South London Soul Train Live Stage.

Then [and not to be outdone] LEVEL 2 gives way to the mighty SNOWBOY + DEAN RUDLAND taking you on an epic safari 'back in time' to the land of The Funk Pit and Vinyl45o'saurus, the land that time never forgot. Archaic vinyl monster jams and seismic shifting joints dropped hard as part of this 'tour guided' audio trip to the unchartered planes of soul, rare groove, original breaks and beats. All night long!

LEVEL 3 - S’all about Mukatsuku Records Founder, the simply outstanding NIK WESTON & Long term DJ partner and audio partner in riddim & rhyme DJ HUW 72 - Promising another night of blistering eclectic, globalistic groove. Bringing tha audio love and vinyl pressure. Beliiiieve!
