As a member of the Ronnie Scott Quintet, Mornington toured widely, in the U.K. and internationally. He has recorded more than 50 albums with a wide variety of artists, including Ronnie Scott, Jim Mullen, Stan Tracey, Don Grusin, Martin Drew, Claire Martin, Sarah Jane Morris and Ian Shaw. Recent commercial studio work includes a session with Oasis. Mornington has also played with many international jazz artists including Jimmy Smith, Arturo Sandoval, Franco Ambrosetti, Niels Henning Ørsted Pedersen, Dave Weckl, Bernard Purdie, Phil Upchurch, Jon Faddis, Ulf Wakenius, Béla Szakcsi Lakatos, Gabòr Bolla, Nicolas Meier, Georgie Fame and Jack DeJohnette.Trumpeter and composer Alistair Martin has been described as having a “compelling and visionary sound”. After studying Jazz at the Royal Academy of Music, he released his debut album ‘Oblivion’ in 2021 on Unit Records (Presto Music), to acclaim from publications Jazzthing, Jazz’n’More and Concerto Magazine. Beyond his solo work, Alistair is a highly sought-after collaborator, performing regularly with many jazz groups including the Tom Smith Big Band, Shirley Smart Sextet and Mornington Lockett quintet. An accomplished composer, he has been commissioned to create new works by the Royal College of Music.
