Inspired by dishes his grandmother cooked, he adapts traditional flavours for modern audiences. A Yan Kit So finalist, he sells Malay sauces, hosts popular supper clubs, and contributes recipes to major publications.The Malay Cook is Ranie Saidi’s tribute to his grandmother, Che Aminah, a renowned Malay village cook whose dishes he learned as a child. After her recipe book was stolen, he rebuilt her flavours from memory, a grieving process that led to supper clubs, sauces, and now his debut cookbook.
