In the far North of Sweden lies one of Europe's most wild and remote Treks, 'Kungsleden' or Kings Trail, situated 200 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle deep in Swedish Lapland.
Starting at the Abisko Mountain Station this unspoiled diverse and dramatic trek through the arctic wilderness takes us through a land of flower carpeted birch forest, snow-capped mountain fells, rocky mountain passes, lakes, and spectacular glacial valleys where the indigenous Sami people tend their herds of reindeer.
We traverse through ever-changing landscapes, to the commanding view point of the Tjäktja Pass (1100m) and the impressive waterfalls of the Tj'ktajakka Val then hike to the Kebnekaise Mountain Station in Laddjuvaggi Val where we climb Swedens's highest mountain Kebnekaise with a spectacular panorama over the surrounding countryside, before trekking out to Nikkaloukta and our bus to Kiruna.
