In 1953, the expedition that put the first two people on the summit of Everest was planned and funded from a building on Kensington Gore. On Friday 16 October, we return to that building to watch the story of one of the two men who stood on top.

Directed by Jennifer Peedom, TENZING follows the life of Tenzing Norgay - the years of carrying other men's ambitions, the attempts that failed, and what sustained a lifelong dream through all of them.

Joining us on the night:

- Norbu Tenzing, eldest son of Tenzing Norgay
- Rebecca Stephens, our trustee and the first British woman to climb Everest

We will also show a short film about the Trust's work in Nepal - the schools, the teachers and the health services that grew from that first ascent, and the part of the story our supporters have helped to write.

The film stars Genden Phuntsok as Tenzing Norgay, with Tom Hiddleston as Edmund Hillary, Willem Dafoe as Col John Hunt, Caitríona Balfe as Jill Henderson and Thinley Lhamo as Dawa.
