- **Event Description**: Join our session to do some dead hedges, weaving barriers and taking dog wood cuttings to replant the entrance way.About this EventJoin our Southampton Way, Burgess Park entrance prep for planting session Sunday 1 March 10-12 noon.There is a second planting sesson Saturday 21 March 2 to 4pm.We will provide gloves/tools, refreshments. The session will be led by FOBP.Please wear suitable footwear and dress for the weather. Toilets and cafe a short walk away at the Clubhouse Cafe, by the tennis courts.This volunteer session will be building a deadhedge to mark the endge of the path, weaving a barrier along the railings to diffuse the car headlights and reduce light shining directly into the park. Cutting dog wood for the weaving and  cuttings for replanting. This planting is part of a project funded by Southwark Council's Biodiversity Fund as one site in the Southampton Way Nature Corridor. FOBP is also working with Southwark Council Parks to replant the entrance and along the pathway further into the park following the removal of Russian Vine along the side and rear of the salvage and carwash site which is designated as Metrololitan Open Land.
