Seeing the Green is a documentary photography project taking place in Church Street ward in Westminster council.
The project includes workshops that introduce participants to the foundations of visual storytelling and the development of personal photography projects.
These sessions combine practical training with an exploration of visual narrative methodologies through theory and group activities.
Participants have the opportunity to learn photography and photo storytelling focusing on developing stories around green spaces in and around Church Street and surrounding areas.
The project offers two free workshops per month at Church Street Library for local residents.
The project includes:
Mindfulness-inspired field photography walks;
Photo storytelling of the local area;
Befriending activities and trips;
Contributing to a photography archive accessible to the wider community;
Showcasing your work in a photography exhibition;
Each month, participants attend two workshops at Church Street library: one focusing on learning, group activities and feedback, and one workshop that focuses on practical photography.
